Fox Schwörer is an illustrator, artist, and creative storyteller from Germany’s Upper Black Forest region. Working under the artist name Fox, she has spent many years creating distinctive visual worlds characterized by intricate details, subtle humor, and a unique blend of tradition and imagination.

Her work is commissioned by publishers, agencies, businesses, collectors, and private clients, ranging from illustrations and collages to exceptional custom-made pieces.

From an early age, Fox developed a strong passion for images and storytelling. Rather than following established trends, her illustrations create a world of their own, filled with character, symbolism, and thoughtfully crafted details. Each piece reflects her distinctive artistic signature, combining creative expression with a keen eye for the extraordinary in everyday life.

Fox has deep roots in her home region, the Black Forest, where she lives and works surrounded by landscapes that inspire much of her art.

This strong regional connection also led to one of her best-known projects: a contemporary redesign of Cego, the traditional Black Forest card game.

Fascinated by playing cards since childhood, she created her own Black Forest edition of the game, combining regional imagery, traditions, and stories with a modern artistic design. The result is a heartfelt tribute to Black Forest culture—a richly detailed journey through the region in a pocket-sized format.

Through her work, Fox builds bridges between art, culture, and living traditions. Her illustrations invite viewers to look more closely, discover unexpected connections, and explore familiar subjects from fresh perspectives.

Combining technical precision with artistic freedom, she creates works that are engaging, surprising, and inspiring.
